Occasional Brass was formed in 2005 by a strong group of professional musicians, all from the very heart of the brass banding community in the Midlands.  
Since the foundation of the group, Occasional Brass has played at various functions such as weddings, concerts, parties, business open days and funerals.

Weddings in particular are the main trade for the quintet, playing the bride down the aisle to the wedding march or, as requested in the past, to a piece either specially arranged by one of our graduate composers or from our extensive library. Then it is usually off to the reception where the guests are greeted by the wonderful unique sounds of a brass quintet playing in the background, whilst everyone reflects on the happy day.

Concerts have also been organized locally by, and for Occasional Brass.  Such events have proven to be the perfect vehicle for advertising as well informing the public just what talent they have within their local community.  Christmas is always a joy and a pleasure when local pubs get into the festive spirit, with customers being able to sing at the top of their voices to requested carols from a traditional brass setup.

Funerals have also been requested, to play at the service and/or last post for ex service men and women.
